5 months ago today I asked her to marry me, You would think there was plenty of courtship before I popped the question; barely. It was our first meeting. I know, crazy! But all we needed to know was that we were in the will of God. Once you know that, you will find perfect peace no matter how crazy it might seem; Fast forward 5 months and here I am madly, truly, deeply in love with her. With just one more month to go before the wedding, I know what you are thinking - O you lover boy, wait till after the wedding :) but the funny thing is, the last few months weren't exactly blissful either yet it's strange how love overcomes all and makes your stronger.I hope everyone finds their soulmate, I hope you heart is filled with the love of God so that you can celebrate your soulmate with all your heart. I hope the more time you spend with the person the more beautiful your soulmate becomes! Here is to the most beautiful girl in the world!

This is "Caleb's Red Hummer". It originated from New Brunswick (Canadian East Coast) and made its way to Edmonton. Both my daughters and I found the Hummer in our very first GeoCache. For those who have not heard of GeoCaching, here's how the website (http://www.geocaching.com) describes it in a nutshell: "Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online."In addition to locating the caches, one may occasionally find a "Travel Bug". These are small items (like the Hummer) with a tag and tracking number. The idea is if you find one, you take it and place it into another cache. With the tracking number you (and the original owner) can keep an eye online as the Travel Bug moves around.Seeing as "Caleb's Red Hummer" had travelled quite a distance We decided that we would take it even further and into the Rocky Mountains during Spring Break. This shot was taken in Canmore, Alberta just before we placed the hummer into another cache. Now we wait and see how much further it will travel. The whole concept might seem a little strange, but once you get into GeoCaching, it's really fun - especially for the kids. We've even staked out caches to find around a certain University Baptist Church in Houston this summer!!! If you're curious you can monitor the Hummer's travels at this site: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=551515

Christmas morning seemed a little more picturesque this year with the frosted tree branches and relatively warmer temperature ( -15C compared to -40C from two weeks before). Anyhow, this was the view from right outside our front door on Christmas morning.

Last week, I did something I've never done before, I took a week off headed up to Denver accompanied by no one else. It's a great place to clear your head and to take a break from reality. You learn a thing or two about yourself in solitude. I stayed at Beaver creek, a vacation home which was generously offered by our company CEO. This shot was taken when I was on top of a mountain, overlooking the European style villages.

I managed an event for Yoplait last week where we gave away over 10,000 yogurt cups at the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure here in Dallas. These were all the volunteers that selflessly helped out at the event. This was the first time I attended a race let alone manage an event for Yoplait. It was pretty neat to be part of something bigger than us, witness volunteers who wanted to do as much good as they could for as long as they could.

Our very own Betsy got hitched over the weekend, Congrats to both Jacob and Betsy for finding each other. So Betsy now that you are married I hope that frees up some time to update oonny, ;) Speaking of which It has been over 6 months since my last post. You go a week, and it turns into a month; you go a month and it turns into half a year, My excuse is really my new computer (which doesn't have my old pictures) and a broken camera. But 6 months is a long time and thanks to Manoj who keeps the blog alive from time to time. But that's not the topic at hand, it's the wedding.Cheers to the newly wed! Welcome to the family Jacob. Betsy, I'll have to find new ways to make fun of you. :)

As much as I enjoy seeing my little boy and my dad here, I figured it was time to have something different ... as boring as this picture may seem. What is this? This is my extremely messy desk ... and on screen is the admin page for Oonny.org with this write up waiting to upload after I take the picture. Make Sense? This was taken with my blackberry ... so the quality's not that great ... however it is something different.

May 1968 marked my father's arrival in Western Canada and with that the arrival of the Parayanthara family in North America. Although his official name was Parayanthara Thomas Mathew, he recognized the challenges the Syrian Christian naming order would present in North America, and therefore made a change and became Thomas Parayanthara Mathew. As is the case with many 2nd generation Malayalees, the family (or house) name never made it into my official name. The result is that many of our family names are at risk of disappearing forever. Although Parayanthara does not appear on my birth certificate, the fact that I come from this family is something I proudly recognize and pray that my son will also embrace. Here we have Thomas Parayanthara Mathew spending time with his 2 day old grandson, Thomas Jacob Kurian Mathew.

Rising from the heart of the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders - the glistening white sands of New Mexico. Here, great wave-like dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert and created the world's largest gypsum dune field. Found it very hard to take even a decent picture that captures the only two colors at white sands, white and blue.. The glare from the sand and the sun was out of this world..no wonder they use the location to shoot sci-fi movies. Posted is a “photoshopped” version, trying a hand at sand boarding!
